YOTTTO - you only turn thirty-three once! [TL; DR - just check out the pics here!]
Last year was a doozy -- that's probably the nice, short and sweet way to sum it all up. (If you're new here and don't know me just yet, check out my first blog post from the top of the year.). 33 may not sound so glamorous but honestly, I feel amazing - maybe not as flexible or as light on the toes as I was at 23 but I've fully embraced who I am, what I want, my relationship, who my true friends are and am ready for the world to BRING. IT.
I wanted to get together a few ladies from my #squad to do something fun while also catching up before a bigger birthday dinner and fun in the city with Eddie...so how did I want to celebrate? By mashing up two of my favorite things: DISCO and DONUTS! I know, I know...being born in ‘85 made me miss the disco boat but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t in my soul and my playlists! With some Bee Gees, a little bit of Rick James and a whole lotta Donna Summer cranked up, it was easy to shed all the layers and bust out the pastels to usher in those spring vibes. And I mean it doesn’t exactly hurt that the building we were in was pink — yes true millennial PINK with silver tinsel and disco balls of all sizes strewn about so basically one of the best places on Earth.
You know I can't ever do anything "normal" so this year I ditched the cake and created a donut tower for my birthday. *shout out to Mariano’s for just finishing a fresh dozen that were perfectly decorated!* Forget the sprinkles, the real treat were the party plates, napkins and glitter plasticware all from Bash Party Goods.
I'm so thankful for such a wonderful day with great friends and all my loved ones - blessed to see a new year with new adventures! Check out all the pics on my gallery.
